An artist, as well as a programmer, ucnv repeatedly alternates between the normal and abnormal by inflicting damage to data through programs in the field of digital media.
The true essence of his works lies not in their outward appearances, but their structures.

See this exhibition and enjoy his new installations with what could be interpreted as being a new form of irony incorporated into processes and structures outputted onto digital data through programs.

The work to be placed on display here will be three variations of the same image.

The first is the original photo. The other two are damaged JPEG and PNG images, which I processed with encoders that I installed myself.

The encoders intentionally feature algorithms with subtle glitches.
This results in differences between the two file formats. It reveals the differences in internal processes taking place within the JPEG and PNG images.

That’s the kind of thing I focus on in my works. It’s not the visual image I want to show people, but I simply continue using programs to generate data like it's trash. If such image data could inspire something within people who see my works, it would be like an algorithm with glitches, and I find that interesting.
