HOZUBAG Mfg. EXHIBITION

Sony Park Exhibition KYOTO will be held in Kyoto in November.
Programs related to Kyoto will be held at Sony Park Mini.

The second in this series of programs will be HOZUBAG, a project to use discarded paragliders to make reusable bags in Kameoka City of Kyoto Prefecture, known as a mecca for paragliders.
The program will look at how the project launched, and how the upcycling is actually carried out.

We hope it will draw attention to the unique activities being carried out in Kameoka City of Kyoto.

Sony Park Mini

Kameoka City, located about 30 minutes away from the outskirts of Kyoto City, is renowned for being a foggy place, and it is blessed with beautiful mountains and rivers.
The Kameoka Zero Plastic Waste Declaration was announced extensively throughout the country by Kameoka City in December 2018, leading to the launch of HOZUBAG.

HOZUBAG is an upcycle brand based on the use of paragliders that have outlived their usefulness, but can still be used as a resource for other purposes. As rivers continually flow, resources are used in new ways. We established a new system from scratch covering all upstream to downstream processes in which Paragliders are gathered in one place, cut up, and with the cooperation of a paraglider school, are dismantled efficiently and developed into attractive products.
We hope this flow of resources will help make our mountains and oceans more beautiful.

The bags made from used paragliders are light and durable.
Each paraglider is of a different color, so each bag turns out looking attractive and different depending on how the fabric is cut.

We invite you to learn more about HOZUBAG, and come find a bag of your choice.

HOZUBAG is a brand that creates diverse resource-recycling.
We collect and dismantle paragliders that are not suitable to be used anymore due to strict safety standards at our base, "HOZUBAG Mfg." in Kameoka City, Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan, and reinvent these paragliders into bags.
Our aim is to create a recycling-oriented society through a variety of approaches, such as bags made from recycled plastic bottles.
By fostering this new industry, we hope to diversify our local economy, boost employment, and revitalize our region.

HOZUBAG, our signature item, is repurposed from used paragliders, making it light and durable.
Each bag has a different color and style depending on how it was cut and sewn together. No two bags are the same.
