For the past three years, Sony has been a proud global partner of Trojan Horse was a Unicorn (THU), a creative community that brings together creators from around the world. With THU, Sony supports a platform for diverse creators to connect, inspire each other, and unleash their full potential. Sony Talent League by THU, a global competition that nurtures young creators, received entries from 48 countries or regions.

Sony Park Mini has teamed up with THU to showcase the work of two artists who are symbols of the creativity and spirit of this thriving community.

Sony Park Mini

THU empowers creators to generate new value across various fields and disciplines.
The wall at Sony Park Mini represents the essence of THU, where creativity transcends traditional and digital borders and new connections are formed.
This exhibition features works by Katsuya Terada, who will be live drawing, and Ian Spriggs, who will unveil his latest piece. Both artists honor world-renowned illustrator Kim Jung Gi, who was a central figure in the THU community and art world.

Katsuya Terada
Terada was born in 1963 in Okayama, Japan. He grew up immersed in rich Japanese manga culture since his childhood and found Moebius (Jean Giraud) and Katsuhiro Otomo in his adolescence. His unique pictorial style that combines expressions of lines and shadings from both Western and Asian comics conventions has won him a large fan base in Japan and abroad alike. His major works include Saiyukiden Daienou (Monkey King) Vol.1 and Terada Katsuya Presents – Rakuda Ga Warau (manga); Virtua Fighter Series and Busin 0 (video game character and world design); and Yatterman and Kamen Rider (TV/film character design).
In 2013, Kyoto International Manga Museum held the exhibition Katsuya Terada TEN – 10 Year Retrospective, a comprehensive retrospective of his work up to that point. He has also been holding solo exhibitions on the West Coast of the United States in the past few years. Terada’s artbook DRAGON GIRL & MONKEY KING: The Art of Katsuya Terada (Dark House Comics) was published in the US in 2014.
