Sony Design Gallery Vol.1 MEMORY OF TECHS

11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. / Sat., Apr 13 – Wed., Apr 24, 2024
*This program has ended.
Sony Design Gallery is a new program series hosted by the Sony Group’s design division.
This first installment of the series is called, “MEMORY OF TECHS.”

Sony’s technologies have continued to support people’s lives, today and in the past.
Most of the technologies are blended into our everyday lives and are not directly recognizable,
but they can be symbolized and communicated to people.
That’s what logo design does.

In this exhibition, we present 52 types of logo design under the four themes of “Watching, Listening, Connecting, and Recording.”
These logos designed by Sony’s designers - some used in the past, some still used today – each represent a specific technology.

We hope that an encounter with these logos will help leave a mark of Sony’s technologies, and the experience they create, in people’s memories.
That’s our wish as expressed in the title “MEMORY OF TECHS.”

■About Sony Group "Creative Center"

Sony was quick to recognize the importance of design soon after its founding and established the Design Office (now the Creative Center) in 1961. Based on Sony's DNA of "doing what others don't do," the Creative Center has expanded its activities from product design to entertainment, finance, mobility, and other business domains, including branding and interfaces such as visions and logos. We will continue to explore all the possibilities of design and work with people around the world to realize richer and more comfortable lifestyles and to create new "prototypes" of value through the fusion of creativity and technology.
