SHUN SUDO, Koji Yamaguchi, and Takuro Tamayama are three artists with close ties to Ginza Sony Park. How would they use Ginza Sony Park if it were up to them before its grand opening? ART IN THE PARK (Under Construction) is a program which was inspired by this idea.
Come and enjoy the resonance between the works of these three artists and the space currently under construction.

Zephyr

2024 was a year in which I traveled the world for the first time in many years; India, America, Italy, France, Great Britain, Spain…. The light and shadows differ from those of Japan, and a unique breeze blows in each place. "Zephyr" was created to portray the pleasant breezes I felt in these different locations. I hope that people will feel the breezes that blow in different places when they see my paintings.

In exhibiting artworks in a limited space undergoing construction, twelve oil paintings of flower fields were recreated as wall art within a temporary enclosure, with the aim of "offering people real experiences," which is one of the concepts on which Ginza Sony Park is based. The space undergoing construction, and a blooming flower field, have been brought together exclusively for this occasion. I hope to see this vibrant exhibition transition from a temporary enclosure to a space under construction, then the grand opening.

The exhibit "Static Lights: Two Ellipses" is the latest in the "Static Lights" series. The first piece debuted at Sony Park Mini, and the third at Sony Park Exhibition Kyoto. The existence of Sony Park flows through these works as a bloodline, connecting them together.
This time, the piece takes the form of a massive ring, endless and beginningless, running through this place where the pulse has begun to beat, and I think it will become an entity that brings a breath of life to Ginza Sony Park.

SHUN SUDO
Born in Tokyo in 1977. He studied art on his own based on the feelings he acquired while traveling the world. His works possess a delicate touch that captures both the dynamism and stillness of ink painting, combined with street - style pop colors that evoke graffiti. He gives birth to fantastic creatures and flowers that have been inspired by movies, music, sports, nature and animation. His works cannot be confined to a single genre. His art depicts diverse worlds that have been interwoven, for which he has gained global attention,
In 2015, he held his first solo exhibition, "Paint Over," in New York. Since then, he has held solo exhibitions throughout Japan and the world, while working on large-scale artworks in New York, Miami, and Tokyo, quickly establishing himself as a notable artist. In his 2020 solo exhibition titled "2020," he portrayed a society struggling amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The following year, he held the exhibition "Art Demic", wishing for the revival of art after the pandemic. He held "Blowin' in the Wind" in 2022 to wish for peace, then "Art Land" in 2023 in pursuing the fun of art, releasing a series of works with powerful messages.
His signature motif, the "Button Flower," symbolizes love and peace by connecting fabrics that exist independently. In his solo exhibition, "MOMENTARY," held at Ryosoku-in Temple in Kyoto, in 2023, he took on the bold endeavor of painting his "Button Flower" on a traditional Japanese gold-leaf folding screen. The piece was later dedicated to the temple, garnering much attention both domestically and internationally.
