Construction Records

Sony Park Exhibition KYOTO

Ginza Sony Park Phase 1

Exterior. The lighting of Ginza Sony Park and the glass-block lights from Ginza Maison Hermès in the back beautifully illuminate the Ginza night.
Exhibit. At the back of the roller skating rink, made of wooden planks, is a sign that says “SONY.”
Venue. The main visual and other elements have been placed on the floor and pillar of the entrance to the venue, located where the building connects to the second basement floor underground concourse.Exhibit. The exhibit monitors, which are designed to resemble traffic lights, feature movie titles and the year they were released; the occasional
Exhibit. The basement venue, with its large “SONY” sign on the right wall, features wooden display stands assembled to look like playground equipment and labeled with years, on which are displayed WALKMAN models from those years.
Exhibit. The lights of the aquariums on the basement floor, which are used to grow plants, give the dim space a blue hue.Exhibit. Spheres of various sizes are scattered in a space filled with colorful light.
Exhibit item. A giant art object of a boy, which appears in the music video for the King Gnu song “Hikoutei,” hangs in the atrium.

Sony Building
