MUSIC IN THE PARK Statement (Atsushi Yanaka, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra)

Imagine if everything inside your head was laid out on a table. You would have to do all your thinking within the space of the table. But if the table were to be packed with things, it would be impossible to sort out those things from inside of your head. For this reason you would need "free space" in order to sort things out. That is why the Park has plenty of free space. For this project, we have created the "forest of music" brimming with music at Ginza Sony Park. Wouldn't it be even more wonderful if relaxation could be found within these free spaces? Instead of failing to see the forest from its trees, try to take a look at the forest first then the individual trees. This point of view is very important in learning to appreciate music. Personally, I believe that music is something that creates these free spaces inside your mind. Nothing would bring me greater joy as a musician, if people could enjoy music to their hea rt's content and be freed from their suffering, sorrow, anger and fear to sort out their reality and to reconstruct their lives for a happy future. We invite everyone to come and enjoy the "forest of music" of which Ska Paradise have cooperated in the creation.

MUSIC FAMILY TREE

This interactive exhibit featuring songs form artists with whom the Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra has collaborated and performed with over the past 30 years could even be considered a genealogy (family tree) of large numbers of artists.
