We want to create a new rhythm in the town of Ginza.
That's why Ginza Sony Park thinks every day about how
it can be a meaningful park in people's everyday lives
and be cherished by many.

And that's what made us focus once again on that special piece of work that has cheered and comforted many people in their ups and downs.

Comic artist Charles Monroe Schulz began drawing
the comic "PEANUTS" in America in 1950.
The gentle, humorous everyday life depicted by Snoopy and a host of other colorful characters continues to be treasured by people of all ages and generations around the world.

What keeps PEANUTS so loved
and adored even 75 years after it began?

Perhaps it is because the series goes beyond simple cuteness and contains messages that resonate universally through simple everyday conversations and even social insights that convey the wealth of human emotions we all share.

It captures hearts with witty and pithy quotes.
Ginza Sony Park believes that the greatest charm of PEANUTS is the comfortable rhythm of the words
found in the characters' relaxed everyday lives.

The words that Snoopy and his friends speak
enliven our own "everyday lives,"

and perhaps they might even contain clues that help us discover new "rhythms."
It is with that thought in mind that Ginza Sony Park brings you this program.

Program

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the comic PEANUTS, known for characters like Snoopy and Charlie Brown, from July 16, we will be holding an event featuring the characters' "quotes!" It will consist of three perspectives, namely "Ten guest creators share quotes they treasure," "Original items that bring quotes to life," and "Casual dining for savoring both food and quotes," based on many of the quotes appearing in the PEANUTS comics. Highly individual personalities like novelist and entertainer Nishida (of the comic duo Lalande) and the poet Saihate Tahi will serve as guest curators and fill Ginza Sony Park with quotes that resonated deeply with them.

1. Ten guest creators share quotes they treasure

During the event, ten guest curators will display works inspired by quotes that appeared in the PEANUTS comic. Essayist Matsuura Yataro notes down his thoughts about PEANUTS in an essay, while novelist and entertainer Nishida (Lalande) captures Snoopy's struggles to write a novel from his unique perspective. Aoba Ichiko, a musician, prepared an exhibition where visitors can enjoy works selected by her together with their audio readings. The works created from quotes that the ten curators were moved by and wish to treasure will be available to enjoy in the exhibition space from PARK B2/Basement 2 to 4F.

The menu stays true to the concept of 1/2 (Nibun no Ichi)—"A Little Less, So Much More"— and reimagines classic yoshoku (Japanese-style Western cuisine) dishes like omurice, hamburger steaks and hayashi rice through the world of PEANUTS, with American-inspired twists. In addition to the food itself, the original placemats set on the table at serving time, and quotes printed in the original menu book are also worth looking out for.

Ichiko Aoba
Musician.
She has been making picturesque dioramas with only her voice and guitar since her debut in 2010 at 19
years old. While her seventh album, Windswept Adan (2020) connected her with an international audience, the
real driving force behind her ascent is her naturally captivating presence. Ichiko's arresting solo performances are
unassuming yet utterly transfixing. No matter where she performs, her delicate voice operates on an emotional
frequency that pierces through language barriers and cultural divides.
In February of 2025, she released her eighth solo album Luminescent Creatures, and is currently on tour in support
of it, spanning five continents, 22 countries, and over 50 shows.
Her compositions have become grander, her songwriting more refined, yet her ability to make listeners feel like
they're in a private cosmos alongside her remains as strong as ever.
